Hey CES families! It’s time to start saving your change for a Penny War! 🏆💵
🗓 Dates: April 14– April 30
Each HOMEROOM will compete to collect the most pennies and bills while sabotaging other grades with silver coins! 💰
How It Works:
💵 Pennies and Bills= Positive Points (1 penny = 1 point)
🔴 Silver Coins = Negative Points (Subtract from total!)
💥 Strategy: Add pennies to your homeroom’s jar & drop silver coins into other homerooms' jars!
All proceeds will go toward the Splish Splash AR Party. Let’s have some fun while making a difference! 💙

To All CES Families:
Due to the potential for black ice in the southern part of Heard County tomorrow, Thursday, January 23rd, students will have a distance learning day. This decision was made with the safety of our students and staff as our top priority.
Teachers will be sending out assignments that can be completed at home, even if you do not have a computer or internet access. These assignments are designed to ensure all students can continue their learning regardless of their access to technology.
For your convenience, sack breakfasts and lunches will be available for pick-up tomorrow between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM for all students. If your child is not with you at pick-up, please have their lunch ID number ready.
Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate the 100th Day of School on Monday, January 27th! Additionally, with a $2 donation, students can participate in Pajama Day, which will be held on either Friday, January 24th, or Tuesday, January 28th, depending on weather and scheduling.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. Please stay safe, and we look forward to seeing everyone back at school soon.

Students need to wear either the shirt from the race kit or a shirt that you don't mind getting stained from the color (white will better show the color). Students also need to wear sunglasses, either the ones from the race kit or some from home (we do have some they can purchase for $1). Temperatures will be a little on the cool side so they may want to wear long sleeves under their tshirt. Parents are welcome to join us and are allowed to check out their child when their grade level is finished running. Kona Ice will be here during the run. Here is the schedule for the color run: Kindergarten (11:30), PreK (11:45), First (12:00), Second (12:15), Teachers (12:30), Third (12:40), Fourth (12:50), Fifth (1:00).

Congratulations to our August Readers of the Month! Also, check out the August Media Newsletter! We had a ton of awesome things going on in the library! We checked out over 1,776 books for August!
That's a wrap on the Back to School Book Fair! A BIG thank you to the CES community and families for showing up and supporting this event! We were able to buy all of the teachers wish list books, new book group books, and so much more!
