CES families… All Heard County Schools will be participating in a county-wide fundraiser starting next week. Please see the paper pictured here and look for it to be sent home tomorrow with your student. This is a great opportunity to support our school AND give you a chance to earn “cash back” through some of your daily purchases. The cash back opportunity is strictly for you and does not apply to the school. Our part of the fundraiser is provided through the purchase of the “Braves Bucks app.” A “kickoff event” will be held at CES next Wednesday, August 17 for our students.

Reminder… Our After School Program starts next Monday, August 8 (3:00-6:00). If your student is going to stay in our ASP next week, PLEASE use the PowerSchool “parent portal” and sign up now. Students need to be registered for ASP and have their “days” selected the week before. This is important in our planning process. Thanks!

Hey parents, time to get creative! To help your student better identify their book bag and not confuse it with those belonging to their classmates, please look at adding something “personal” to your child’s book bag, such as writing their name or initials on the bag straps (maybe with a silver sharpie), or adding a personalized bag tag, a specific ribbon, etc. If you would be okay with our teachers using a silver marker to add your child’s name or initials to the book bag, please send us a note stating your approval. Thanks for the help!

CES families... Just a reminder that CES (and both other HC elementary schools) will once again offer an After School Program this school year. The ASP times will remain the same as last year (daily, 3:00 - 6:00), but the price will increase to $8.00 per child, per day. This price increase was announced back in the spring, and is necessary to try and continue our ASP after this school year. The first day of ASP will be Monday, August 8. Also, please remember to complete student registration (through PowerSchool) soon. We hope to have all students registered by Friday, July 29. You can call the school at 770-854-4002 if you have questions about registration. Please note, the CES school office will be closed tomorrow, July 20 so that we can attend a meeting off campus. Thanks!

Great job this morning by Mrs Tracey Hunt and Mrs Amanda Stephens, two of Heard County’s best leading a “teaching math through literacy” workshop at West Georgia RESA. Also, thankful to have 5 CES teachers attend the training too.
